A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Hello there, and welcome to my first published game, Constellations!

Constellations is a simple game where you click stars to gradually discover a random constellation (hence the name). Additional challenges can be added to the base gameplay loop for a more amusing time. When you're done with an attempt, you can save your high score to the leaderboard!

To run it, just download your OS's file above (check your computer's "about" page in settings if you're unsure what processor you have), extract the contents, and use the shortcut (or the exe file directly) to play! Keep in mind that you can move the shortcut out of the folder but nothing else; otherwise, the game can't find its own stuff!

Brief Note: Click the "?" button in the bottom left of the game when you first run it. That's the tutorial. I forgot to make the poor thing flashy when you first open the game, so I'll have to include that in future builds.

This game has been sitting around for quite a while, and as a result, I wanted to finally finish it and get it out to the world. Don't expect this game to be updated frequently unless it's necessary (or I get a random boost of motivation).

One may have a few questions about this project; as a result, I am here to answer a few:

Supported Operating Systems

While I have given out the files for Windows and Linux, Windows is the only OS this game has been playtested on. I cannot confirm whether or not this will work flawlessly on Linux, and I unfortunately cannot get this to work with Mac at all.

Apparently, trying to export to Mac is not fun. So unfun that I had to give up after an hour of messing around with it. I may try to properly fix this in the future, but for now, Mac users are not able to play Constellations.

As a result of these shortcomings, consider yourself a helpful tester if you're trying to get it to run on different systems. Tell me how it goes!

Future Features / Bugfixes

Here's a roughly-taken image of my "to-do list" regarding things that could be addressed with this game:

(A problem not listed above is that the file for this game is *big* even though it doesn't need to be. I'll figure that out eventually.)

If there are any problems with the game you happen to come across that I don't mention above (especially game-breaking ones), don't hesitate to make a post on it.

Once again, while I don't plan on updating this game frequently or adding on too many extra features (the code foundation's kind of messy, I'd rather just rebuild the whole system), if there's enough desire, I will continue to add new things. Who knows, maybe one day there will be a Constellations 2?

Suggested Donation?!

This game was mainly made to understand more about Godot, see how the publishing process works, and get my foot in the door portfolio-wise. As such, this is a completely free game for all to enjoy!

If you do, however, get impressed enough with this game you'd like to support a fellow human being out, I will gladly accept your donation. Donations help encourage the creation of more goofy games just like this one!

Thank you for reading and have a good rest of your day!
